Introduction to Flameworking

One Day Glass Bead making Workshop Saturdays, monthly, 10am-5pm, $225, includes all materials. 5 1⁄2 hours of torch time learning techniques of decorating and shaping glass beads. Silver foil, millefiori, stringer decoration, and encasing beads.

Emily Lake - Beginning Flameworking, weekend workshop
10am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday, $450, includes all materials. 11 1⁄2 hours of torch time learning all of the above plus, lots of tips and tricks to whet your appetite. Heat control and large beads will be covered, also simple sculptural techniques. This course is taught to the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB) standards. Tutor: Emily Lake. About the workshops
Annie Rose Ltd holds workshops on different lampworking techniques, ranging from beginners to advanced.
Introductory workshops are held throughout the year. Please contact us for more information.
Our workshops are all supervised by trained Lampwork Artists. Demonstrations and a ‘hands-on’ approach are what we believe is necessary to fully learn this exciting craft. Safety, tools, equipment and fun are what our workshops are all about. All of our classes aim to follow the standards suggested by the 'International Society of Glass Beadmaking' (www.isgb.org)
Groups up to 12
Our workshops can accommodate groups up to 11, using Effetre Glass from Murano, Italy, Gaffer Glass from New Zealand, Bullseye Glass or Glass Alchemy Borosilicate glass from the USA. Take an Intro to Lampworking or Beginning Workshop and hone up on your skills for use in our Rental Studio.
Hosting internationally acclaimed Lampworking Glass Artists
Annie Rose will be hosting, several times a year, internationally acclaimed Lampworking Glass Artists. It’s very exciting to have this talent come to New Zealand. We are hoping to attract the best skills with a wide range of new techniques and tricks. We will be having demonstrations by these artists and their artwork will be displayed and for sale, prior to their visit and while they are here. We are currently working with Emily Lake, Carol Murando, Kate Fowle, Sharon Peters, Peter Viesnik, Kathryn Wardill, Andrea Guarino, Akihiro Ohkama, Stephanie Sersich and Dustin Tabor.

If you have a group interested in a specific glass artist, talk with us about a private booking and we will see what we can arrange. Anything is possible.
Private tuition
Private tuition is available with advance notice and costs $60/ hour plus $20 per hour torch rental. This includes torch time and glass. Call us to discuss your individual needs. We can also assist you, or you and your group with travel arrangements and accommodations.
